フィリピンからニューギニア島が原産です。高さは２〜３メートルほどになり、白色の大きな萼片が特徴です。葉は楕円形から長楕円形で、対生します。花は黄色い小さな筒状花です。変種名は、フィリピンのケソン元大統領夫人（Mrs. Aurora Quezon）に因みます。

アカネ科コンロンカ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Mussaenda philippica var. aurorae。英名はありません。

Mussaenda philippica var. aurorae belongs to Rubiaceae (the Madder family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native from the New Guinea Island to the Philippines. This shrub grows up to a height of 2-3 m. It is characterized by a large white calyx. The leaves are elliptic to oblong, and arranged opposite. The flowers are yellow small tubular flowers. The variant's name is attributed to Mrs. Aurora Quezon who was former presidential wife of the Philippines.
