Tassel hyacinth (Muscari comosum) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to southern Europe. This herb grows in fields and rocky places, to 1300 m elevation, and can reach 10-30 cm in height. The leaves are long strap-like. The flowers are bell-shaped, of two types, the lower flowers are brownish green and the upper flowers are violet-blue. They bloom from April to July.
