むらさきしまだけ (紫縞竹) [Index] [Back] 中国が原産です。桿の高さは８〜１５メートル、直径は５〜９センチになります。桿ははじめ緑色で黄緑色の条斑がありますが、のちに条斑は褐色となり、ついには紫褐色になります。タケノコは「もうそうちく（孟宗竹）」と同じく、４月上旬にでます。 イネ科マダケ属の常緑タケ類で、学名は Phyllostachys violescens。英名はありません。 The "Murasaki-shima-dake" (Phyllostachys violescens) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is an evergreen bamboo that is native to China. The culms can reach 8-15 m in height and 5-9 cm in diameter. The culms are green with greenish-yellow stripes at first, and their stripes turn into brown to purplish brown later.
