インドの東部、アルナーチャルプラデシ州からインドシナ半島、中国の南部に分布しています。標高の高い森に生え、偽茎の高さは２〜２．４メートルになります。葉は長さ２メートルほどですが、１．３メートルほどの長い葉柄があります。偽茎の先端に、直立した花序をだします。上部の雄花序はピンク色の苞に包まれ、雄花はオレンジ色です。果実は小さくて６〜７センチくらいの大きさしかありません。

バショウ科バショウ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Musa rosacea。英名はありません。

Musa rosacea belongs to the Musaceae (the Banana family. It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed from eastern India; Arunachal Pradesh to the Indi-china Peninsula and southern China. This herb grows in highland forests and the pseudostem can reach 2-2.4 m in height. The leaves are about 2 m long with long petioles about 1.3 m. The erect clusters are borne on the pseudostem apex. The male inflorescences are covered with pink bracts, and the male flowers are orange. The fruits are small and size 6-7 cm long.
