なんてんはぎ (南天萩)

わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島や中国、サハリン、シベリア東部に分布しています。山野に生え、高さは３０〜６０センチになります。茎には４稜があり直立か斜めに立ち上がります。葉は２出複葉で短い柄があり、互生します。小葉は卵形から長楕円形で先端が尖ります。６月から１０月ごろ、葉腋から花梗を伸ばして総状花序をつけ、紅紫色の花を咲かせます。岐阜県では、若葉と茎、花穂を食用にするそうです。別名で「ふたばはぎ（双葉萩）」とも呼ばれます。 |

マメ科ソラマメ属の多年草で、学名は Vicia unijuga。英名は Two-leaf vetch。 |

The two-leaf vetch (Vicia unijuga) belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed to various parts of Japan, the Korean Peninsula, China, Sakhalin and eastern Siberia. This herb grows in fields or mountain and can reach 30-60 cm in height. The stem is quadrangular and erect or scendent. The leaves are bifoliate with ovate to oblong leaflets. The leaflets have acute tips. The racemes are borne at the axils and the magenta flowers bloom from June to October. Its young leaves and stems, flowering clusters are used for food in Gifu prefecture. |
