わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島や中国に分布しています。山地の日当たりの良いところや小川の岸辺などに生え、蔓性で垂れ下がります。葉は３出複葉または５出複葉で互生します。５月から６月ごろ、集散花序をだしてピンク色の花を咲かせます。花弁は雄しべを包んだままで開きません。果実は、６月の苗代をつくるころ暗紅色に熟し、甘くて食べることができます。別名で「さつきいちご（皐月苺）」とも呼ばれます。中国語では「茅莓（mao mei）」です。 |

バラ科キイチゴ属の落葉低木で、学名は Rubus parvifolius。英名は Japanese raspberry。 |

The Japanese raspberry (Rubus parvifolius) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a small deciduous tree that is native to various parts of Japan, the Korean Peninsula and China. This tree is a trailing vine and grows in montane sunny places or stream banks. The leaves are trifoliate to pentafoliolate and opposite. The cymes are borne and bloom pink flowers between May and June. The petals cover the stamens and do not open. The fruits ripen in dark red in June, and they are sweet and edible. It is called "茅莓" (mao mei) in Chinese. |
