わが国の四国、徳島県の那賀川の中流域に分布しています。河岸に生え、高さは６０センチほどになります。葉は倒卵形で先端が３裂し、基部はくさび形です。全体に短い細毛が密生し、灰緑色に見えます。１０月から１２月ごろ、枝先に直径３〜４センチの白色の頭花を咲かせます。

キク科キク属の多年草で、学名は Chrysanthemum yoshinaganthum。英名はありません。

"Nakagawa-nogiku" (Chrysanthemum yoshinaganthum) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is endemic to Japan, and distributed to the middle reaches of Naka-river in Tokushima prefecture of Shikoku. This herb grows in the stream edges and can reach about 60 cm in height. The leaves are obovate with trolobate tips and cuneatic bases. The whole plant is covered with short hairs densely, and appears gray-green. The white flower-heads about 3-4 cm across, bloom at the terminal branches from October to December.
