The "Nekonome-so" (Chrysosplenium grayanum) belongs to Saxifragaceae (the Saxifrage family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Hokkaido and Honshu in Japan. This herb grows in wettish places of along montane streams and can reach about 10 cm in height. The stem is glabrous. The leaves are broad ovate and opposite. The small pale yellowish-green or yellow flowers appear from April to May. The sepals look like petals.
