ブラジルが原産です。リオデジャネイロ州とサンパウロ州の大西洋岸森林に生え、半直立して、長さは８０センチまでになります。着生植物で、木の幹の上または岩の上に生えます。葉の裏面が赤味を帯びるのが特徴です。花は濃いピンク色で、直径３〜４センチ、細かい毛に被われています。 |

Nematanthus monanthos belongs to Gesneriaceae (the African violet family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Brazil. This herb grows in Atlantic forest in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo States, is semi erect, up to 80 cm long. It is an epiphyte, on tree trunks, or on the rocks. The feature is that the back side of the leaf is reddish. The flowers are dark pink, 3-4 cm in diameter and covered with fine hair. |
