The "Nebari-nogi-ran" (Aletris foliata) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial evergreen herb that is endemic to Japan, and distributed in various regions in Japan. This herb grows in montane to sub-alpine grasslands, and can reach 20-40 cm in height. The leaves are lanceolate and clumping. The flowering stalks are borne and urn-shaped, yellowish green flowers bloom from April to July. The axis of inflorescence, peduncles and perianthes are covered with sticky glandular hairs.
