The Nepenthes ampullaria belongs to Nepenthaceae (the Nepenthes family). It is a perrenial evergreen herb that is distributed from the Malay Peninsula to Borneo, Sumatra, and New Guinea. The stems grow up to 6 m long, either crawling on the ground or entangled in trees. The leaves are long ovate or spoon-shaped and sessile. The pitcher is vase-shaped and yellowish green in color.
