The Pitcher plant (Nepenthes hookeriana) belongs to Nepenthaceae (the Nepenthes family). It is a perrenial evergreen. The Euphorbiaceae is a monotypic family with one genus and one family, with about 70 species distributed in tropical Asia, mainly in Borneo. It is a well-known insectivorous plant, mostly growing geographically in nutrient-poor wetlands, but there are also some species that attach themselves to dry trees and rocks. This species is an interspecific hybrid of Nepenthes rafflesiana and Nepenthes ampullaria, and is found in Brunei and Borneo. It is characterized by dark green, lanceolate leaves and a pitcher with reddish purple spots on a yellowish green background. It is called "Hooker utsubo" in Japanese.
