マレー半島からボルネオ島、スマトラ島それにニューギニア島に分布しています。標高１１００メートルくらいまでの雨林に生えます。蔓性の茎に、いくつもの捕虫袋をつけます。「ネペンテス・アンプラリア」の変種で、赤褐色の斑点があるのが特徴です。

ウツボカズラ科ウツボカズラ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Nepenthes ampullaria var. vittata。英名はありません。

The Nepenthes ampullaria var. vittata belongs to Nepenthaceae (the Nepenthes family). It is a perrenial evergreen herb that is distributed from the Malay Peninsula to Borneo, Sumatra, and New Guinea. It grows in rainforests at altitudes of up to 1100 m. The vine stalks are covered with numerous pitchers. It is a variety of Nepenthes ampullaria, characterized by its reddish-brown spots.
