"Nezasa" (Pleioblastus chino var. viridis) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is an evergreen "Sasa" (Bamboo grass), and distributed to Japan, from Kanto region of Honshu west to Shikoku, Kyushu. It is a variety of "Azuma-nezasa". The culm is cylindrical, long between nodes and height is 1-3 m. When it is harvested it becomes Korean lawn grass-like. Leaves are lanceolate, pointed at the tip and rounded at the base. It is used for planting such as gardens and cooking.
