The sweet violet (Viola odorata) belongs to Violaceae (the Viola family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Europe, northern Africa and western Asia. This herb grows in damp meadows and can reach 10-20 cm in height. The leaves are reniform-round. The scented pretty flowers come from April to May. They have several flower-colors, dark purple, pink, white and rose pink. It is also cultivated for vegetables or purfume.
