"No-biru" (Allium grayi) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in Japan, Taiwan, the Korean Peninsula and China. This herb grows in fields and mountains, and can reach 40-60 cm in height. The leaves are linear and 2-3 fascicled on the tips of bulb. The umbel is borne on a stalk from May to June, and contains pale ponceau hermaphrodite flowers and bulbils. The bulb is edible.
