わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島や中国に分布しています。水田や畑の周辺に生え、高さは５〜２０センチになります。よく分枝して地面に広がり、葉は長楕円形で対生します。葉や茎には毛がありません。４月から１０月ごろ、小さな白い花を咲かせます。５個の花弁が深く切れ込んで１０個のように見えます。また「はこべ」の仲間とは異なり、花弁が萼片より長いのが特徴です。名前は、小さな葉を「ノミ（蚤）」の衾（ふすま・夜具）に喩えたもの。

ナデシコ科ハコベ属の越年草で、学名は Stellaria alsine var. undulata。英名はありません。

"Nomi-no-fusuma" (Stellaria alsine var. undulata) belongs to Caryophyllaceae (the Carnation family). It is a biennial herb that is distributed to Japan, as well as the Korean Penisula and Chine. This herb grows in rice-fields or arable lands and can reach 5-20 cm in height. The stem is much branched and speads on the ground. The leaves are oblong and opposite. The stem and leaves are glabrous. The small white flowers appear from April to October. The petals are divided into 2 lobes deeply. The flowers are also defined by long petals than the calxy lobes.
