	中国が原産です。幹から吸着根を出して、塀や壁、他の木などによじ登ります。６月から９月ごろ、赤橙色の花をつぎつぎと咲かせます。「のうぜんかずら」の花は単色ですが、北アメリカ原産の「アメリカのうぜんかずら」には赤橙色や黄色などがあり、両種の交配によってカラフルな園芸品種がたくさんつくられています。中国語では「凌霄（ling xiao）」と呼ばれます。
	ノウゼンカズラ科ノウゼンカズラ属の落葉蔓性木本で、学名は Campsis grandiflora。英名は Trumpet creeper。
	The Trumpet creeper (Campsis grandiflora) belongs to Bignoniaceae (the Trumpet creeper family). It is a deciduous woody vine that is native to China. This vine climbs up adjacent trees or walls by the aerial roots. The reddish orange flowers come in June through September. The flowers of the "Trumpet creeper" are monochromatic, but the "Trumpet vine" (Campsis radicans) native to North America has reddish-orange and yellow flowers, and many colorful garden varieties have been created by crossing the two species. In Chinese, it is called "凌霄" (ling xiao).
