南アフリカのケープ地方の北西部に分布しています。粘土土壌に生え、高さは１２〜２２センチになります。２個の紐状の葉があります。花は狭いベル形で、白色とふじ色、緑色の斑があり、８月から９月に咲きます。葯が飛び出しています。

ユリ科ラケナリア属の多年草で、学名は Lachenalia gillettii。英名はありません。

The Lachenalia gillettii belongs to Lilaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in the northwest Cape of South Africa. This herb grows on clay soils and can reach 12-22 cm in height. It has two strap shaped leaves. The flowers are narrowly bell-shaped, white and lilac with green markings, and bloom from August to September. The anthers are exserted.
