南アフリカのケープ地方に分布しています。冬降雨地帯の砂岩や石灰岩の露頭にみることができます。２個の葉には、えび茶色の縞模様があります。早春に、花茎を伸ばして、白色またはピンク色のベル形の花を咲かせます。口元には赤紫色の斑があります。飛び出した雄しべが目立ちます。

ユリ科ラケナリア属の多年草で、学名は Lachenalia juncifolia。英名はありません。

The Lachenalia juncifolia belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Cape Province of South Africa. This herb grows on sand and limestone outcrops in the winter rainfall area. It has two leaves with maroon bands. It is borne white to pink bell shaped flowers on long pedicles in early spring. The flower has magenta tips and exserted stamens.
