南アフリカのケープ地方西部に分布しています。海岸地帯の湿った斜面に生え、高さは１０〜２０センチになります。葉は細長い槍形です。花茎を伸ばして、芳香のある黄色いベル形の花を咲かせます。口元には緑色の斑があります。

ユリ科ラケナリア属の多年草で、学名は Lachenalia mathewsii。英名はありません。

The Lachenalia mathewsii belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the western Cape Province in South Africa. This herb grows on foreshore wet slopes, and grows 10-20 cm in height. The leaves are narrow lance-shaped. The fragrant yellow bell-shaped flowers bloom on the flowering stalk. The mouths have green mottles.
