南アフリカ、ケープ地方の北西部と南西部に分布しています。粘土質の平坦地に生え、大きなコロニーをつくります。花はつぼみのときは藤色ですが、開くとクリーム色から濃黄色に変化します。褐色または緑色の模様があります。

ユリ科ラケナリア属の多年草で、学名は Lachenalia pallida。英名はありません。

The Lachenalia pallida belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in the northwestern and southwestern parts of the Cape region of South Africa. This herb grows on clay flats and forms large colonies. The flowers are mauve when they are buds, but change from cream to dark yellow when opened. They has a brown or green mottles.
