南アフリカのケープ地方が原産です。花崗岩の露頭の上にできた低地に生え、高さは８〜２０センチになります。葉は披針形で、淡い緑色の地に褐色の斑があります。５月から７月ごろ、青緑色の筒状花を咲かせます。 |

ユリ科ラケナリア属の多年草で、学名は Lachenalia viridiflora。英名は Cape cowslip。 |

The Cape cowslip (Lachenalia viridiflora) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Cape region of South Africa. It grows in low areas on granite outcrops and is 8 to 20 cm tall. The leaves are lanceolate with brown spots on a light green background, and the blue-green tubular flowers bloom from May to July. |
