ヨーロッパの南西部が原産です。「フレンチラベンダー」とも呼ばれています。花穂の先端に花弁のような花苞があるのが特徴です。花期はふつう春から初夏にかけてですが、春と秋の２回開花するものもあります。夏の暑さにつよい反面、寒さにはやや弱く半耐寒性です。 |

シソ科ラバンデュラ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Lavandula stoechas。英名は French lavender。 |

The French lavender ( Lavandula stoechas) belongs to Lamiaceae (the Mint family). It is an evergreen perennial that is native to south-western Europe. This herb blooms usualy in spring to early summer, and it is sometimes remontant; spring and fall. The flowers have floral bracts that are petaloid and arranged in the spike apices. This herb has hot tolerance, then again it is half-hardy plant. |
