南アメリカのペルーからチリ、ウルグアイ、アルゼンチンに分布しています。高さは３メートルくらいになります。葉には「レモン」の香りがあり、ハーブティーの原料になります。夏に小さな白い花を咲かせます。和名では「こうすいぼく（香水木）」と呼ばれます。

クマツヅラ科イワダレソウ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Lippia citriodora。英名は Lemon verbena。

The Lemon verbena (Lippia citriodora) belongs to Verbenaceae (the Verbena family). It is a small evergreen shrub that is distributed in Peru, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina, South America. This small shrub can reach about 3 m in height. Leaves are lemon-flavored, and used to make an herbal tea. Small white flowers bloom in summer.
