ヨーロッパに分布しています。標高１８００〜２８００メートルの草地や岩礫地、氷堆石地などに生え、高さは５〜１５センチになります。葉は卵形からさじ形で、鋸歯があるか羽状に分裂します。７月から８月ごろ、白色でしばしばピンク色に変化する舌状花をもつ頭花を咲かせます。

キク科レウカンテモプシス属の多年草で、学名は Leucanthemopsis alpina。英名は Alpine moon daisy。

The Alpine moon daisy (Leucanthemopsis alpina) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Europe. This herb grows in grasslands, screes and moraines, 1800-2800 m elevation, and can reach 5-15 cm in height. The leaves are ovate to spoon-shaped, toothed or pinnately-lobed. The flower-heads are solitary with white rays but often turning pink from July to August.
