The orange lily (Lilium bulbiferum ssp. croceum) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily Family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Alps in Europe. This herb grows in meadows, woods and rocky places, to 2400 m elevation, and can reach 30-60 cm in height. The leaves are narrow lance-shaped, arranged in alternate. It has no bulbels. The flowers are bright orange with balck spots, and bloom from May to July.
