中国の中部から中南部、甘粛・陝西省から南へ雲南省まで分布しています。標高８００〜３２００メートルの林縁や斜面の草地に生え、高さは１．５メートル以上になります。７月から８月ごろ、橙色から赤橙色の花を咲かせます。鱗茎は食用になり、時おりストロン（匍匐枝）をだします。中国語では「川百合（chuan bai he）」と呼ばれます。

ユリ科ユリ属の多年草で、学名は Lilium davidii。英名はありません。

The Lilium davidii belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to central and central-southern China; from Gansu-Shaanxi south to Yunnan. This herb grows in forest margins or grassy slopes 800-3200 m elevation and can reach up to 1.5 m in height. The orange to reddish orange flowers come in July and August. The bulb is edible and sometimes stoloniferous. It is called "川百合" (chuan bai he) in Chinese.
