中国の中南部、四川省から雲南省に分布しています。標高が５００〜２０００メートルの林縁や草地に生え、高さは５０〜１６０センチになります。葉は披針形から長楕円状披針形で、葉腋にはむかごがつきます。７月から８月ごろ、茎の先に白い花を咲かせます。花披片の基部に近いところは淡い緑色を帯びます。鱗茎は食用になります。

The Lilium sargentiae belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Sichuan to Yunnan in central and southern China. This herb grows on forest edges and grasslands at an altitude of 500 to 2000 m and can reach a height of 50 to 160 cm. The leaves are lanceolate to oblong lanceolate, with propagules on the axils. The white flowers come on the tips of the stems from July to August. The near the base of the tepals is pale green. The bulbs are edible.
