コロンビアからペルー、ボリビアそれにエクアドルが原産です。落葉性で着生または岩生のランです。日陰の低木帯や渓谷、朽ちた切り株などに生えます。偽鱗茎は卵形で、２個の葉がでます。春、夜に香る、蝋質で寿命の長い花を咲かせます。 |

The Lycaste ciliata belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador. This herb is a deciduous epiphytic or lithophytic orchid. This herb grows in shady scrubs, river canyons and on decaying tree stumps. The pseudo-bulbs are ovoid and bear two leaves. The nocturnall fragrant, waxy, long-lived flowers bloom in the spring. |
