メキシコからグアテマラ、エルサルバドルにかけて分布しています。標高６５０〜２２００メートルの高地に生え、地生または着生します。球茎は扁平な卵状楕円形で、葉は楕円状披針形でひだが入ります。春から夏に花茎をのばし、「シナモン」のような芳香のある黄色い花を咲かせます。

The Lycaste cruenta belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Mexico to Guatemala and El Salvador. This herb grows in the highlands at an altitude of 650 to 2200 m and is terrestrial or epiphytic. The corms are flat ovate-elliptic, and the leaves are elliptic-lanceolate with folds. The flower stalks are extended from spring to summer, and fragrant yellow flowers such as "cinnamon" bloom.
