南太平洋のパプアニューギニアからソロモン諸島に分布しています。標高２００〜１０００メートルの熱帯雨林に生えます。着生植物で、よく分枝します。葉は倒卵形で偽輪生します。裏面はいくぶん鱗片に被われます。枝先に、長い筒部をもつ白い花を咲かせます。花には芳香があります。

ツツジ科ツツジ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Rhododendron loranthiflorum。英名はありません。

The Rhododendron loranthiflorum belongs to Ericaceae (the Azalea family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed from Papua New Guinea in the South Pacific to the Solomon Islands. This shrub grows in tropical rainforests at an altitude of 200 to 1000 m. It is an epiphyte and branches well. The leaves are obovate and arranged in false verticillate. The back side is covered with some scales. The white flower with a long tube blooms at the tip of the branch. The flowers have a fragrance.
