中国雲南省の中部から南部に分布しています。標高８００〜２５００メートルの林や藪に生え、高さは２．５メートルほどになります。葉は楕円形で、表面には皺があり、裏面は軟毛で被われています。花はピンク色から橙赤色で、小さな花序に上向きに咲かせます。雄しべと雌しべは花冠から突き出ています。

ツツジ科ツツジ属の常緑低木で、学名は Rhododendron spinuliferum。英名はありません。

The Rhododendron spinuliferum belongs to Ericaceae (the Azalea family). It is a small evergreen tree that is distributed from the central part to the southern part of Yunnan Province, China. This tree grows in forests and bushes at an altitude of 800 to 2500 m and is about 2.5 m high. The leaves are elliptic, wrinkled on the front and covered with vellus hair on the back. The flowers are pink to orange-red and bloom upward in small inflorescences. The stamens and pistils protrude from the corolla.
