インドからスリランカに分布しています。川沿いや岩場に生え、高さは３０〜６０センチになります。茎は多肉質です。葉は左右非対称の卵形で葉脈がくぼみ、裏面ではリブ状になっています。茎の先に総状花序をだし、青色の下唇が目立つ唇形花を咲かせます。

イワタバコ科リンコグロッスム属の多年草で、学名は Rhynchoglossum gardneri（syn. Klugia zeylanica）。英名はありません。

The Rhynchoglossum gardneri belongs to Gesneriaceae (the African violet family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in India and Sri Lanka. This herb grows along streams and in rocky area, and can reach 30-60 in height. The stem is succulent and the leaves are ovate, left-right asymmetric with fallen veins which is ribbed at reverse side. Blue labiate flowers with distinct lower lips come on the terminal racemes.
