The Rhynchostylis gigantea belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed from southern China to Burma, the Malay Peninsula, and the Philippines. It is a medium-sized epiphytic orchid that grows in lowlands. The stem is thick and has several tongue-shaped leaves. In winter, the flower stalks hang down in a bow shape, and the flowers with magenta spots on white bloom in full bloom. The bottom photo is the white flower variety 'Alba'.
