中国の中部、湖北省から四川省に分布しています。標高１８００〜２６００メートルの潅木帯や斜面に生え、高さは３メートルほどになります。幹にはわずかに棘が生え、葉は奇数羽状複葉で卵形から楕円形の小葉が５〜９個つきます。５月から７月ごろ、ピンク色から紅紫色の花を咲かせます。果実は長楕円状卵形で、濃い赤色に熟します。異名で「ロサ・ヘムスレイアナ」とも呼ばれます。

バラ科バラ属の落葉低木で、学名は Rosa setipoda (syn. Rosa hemsleyana)。英名はありません。

The Rosa setipoda belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a small deciduous tree that is native to central China, from Hubei to Sichuan. This tree grows in scrubs or slopes 1800-2600 m elevation and can reach about 3 m in height. The stems have sparse pickles, and the leaves are odd-pinnate compound with 5-9 ovate to elliptic leaflets. The pink to rose-purple flowers come in the clustes from May to July. The fruits are oblong-ovoid and ripen in deep red.
