キツネノマゴ科ルイラソウ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Ruellia makoyana。英名は Monkey plant、Trailing velvet plant。 |

The Monkey plant (Ruellia makoyana) belongs to Acanthaceae (the Acanthus family). It is a perennial evergreen herb that is native to Brazil. This herb is growing to 60 cm tall by 45 cm wide. The leaves are elliptic and are characterized by white-green mottles along the veins. It blooms trumpet-shaped magenta flowers in summer. |
