メキシコが原産です。高さは１〜１．５メートルほどになり、枝の先は下垂します。茎には四稜があり、葉はほとんど退化しています。夏に総状花序をつけ、さんご色の筒状花を咲かせます。和名では「はなちょうじ（花丁子）」と呼ばれます。 |

ゴマノハグサ科ルッセリア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Russelia equisetiformis。英名は Coral plant、Firecracker plant。 |

The Coral plant (Russelia equisetiformis) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to Mexico. This shrub grows up 1-1.5 m in height and the upper branches are weeping. The stems are quadrangular and the leaves are almost degenerate. The racemes are borne and the coral pink, tubular flowers bloom in summer. |
