"Ruri-torano-o" (Pseudolysimachion subsessile) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in the grasslands near the summit of Mt. Ibuki in Shiga Prefecture, Honshu, Japan. It grows up about 1 m, and the ovate leaves have sharp serrations and are opposite to each other. From July to August, bluish-purple flowers come in spikes about 10 to 20 cm in length.
