The Calanthe okinawensis belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen herb that is distributed to Kyushu in Japan, from Yakushima, Tanegashima to the Okinawa islands, as well as Taiwan. This herb is a terrestrial Orchids and summer blooming "Ebine". The flower stalks of 40-80 cm in length are extended from July to September, and the flowers will bloom in the terminal racemes. The flower-colors are rich in pure white to pink, crimson, dark purple and so on.
