わが国の本州と九州、それに朝鮮半島に分布しています。山地の湿地や水辺に生え、高さは３０〜５０センチになります。葉は「ふき」のように丸く、縁には浅い鋸歯があります。５月から７月ごろ、茎の先や葉腋に黄色い花を咲かせます。花弁はなく、花弁のように見えるのは萼片です。 |

キンポウゲ科リュウキンカ属の多年草で、学名は Caltha palustris var. nipponica。英名は Marsh marigold。 |

The Marsh marigold (Caltha palustris var. nipponica) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a perennial herb that is distrubuted to Honshu, Kyushu in Japan and the Korean Peninsula. This herb grows in montane marshes or water's edges and can reach 30-50 cm in height. The leaves are round with shallow toothed edges. The bright yellow flowers bloom on the stem apices and axils from May to July. The sepals look like petals. |
