りゅうきゅうつわぶき (琉球石蕗) [Index] [Back] わが国の南西諸島、奄美大島から沖縄島、西表島に分布しています。樹林内や渓流沿いに生え、高さは３０〜８０センチになります。「つわぶき」の変種で、葉の縁がするどく波うち、基部がくさび形になることが多いのが特徴です。１１月から２月ごろ、直径５センチほどの黄色い頭花を咲かせます。  キク科ツワブキ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Farfugium japonicum var. luchuense。英名はありません。  "Ryukyu-tsuwabuki" (Farfugium japonicum var. luchuense) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an evergreen perennial that is distributed in the Nansei Islands of Japan, from Amami Oshima to Okinawa Island and Iriomote Island. It grows in forests and along mountain streams, and is 30-80 cm tall. It is a variant of the "tsubawabuki" (Japanese silver leaf), characterized by its leaves that are often wedge-shaped at the base with wavy edges.  茨城県つくば市「つくば実験植物園」にて、2022年01月16日撮影。  Shu Suehiro shu@botanic.jp
