「シンビジウム」のなかでも花茎が下垂するタイプの品種群です。下垂性のある「きんりょうへん（Cymbidium pumilum）」や「デボニアヌム（Cymbidium devonianum）」などが交配親となっています。写真は上・中１〜２が「ルビーサラ・ジェムストーン（Cymbidium Sara Jean 'Ice Cascade'）」、中３〜４・下が「サラジーン・アイスキャスケード（Cymbidium Ruby Sarah 'Gem Stone'）」で、いずれも山梨県塩山市にある向山蘭園で作出されたものです。

ラン科シュンラン属の常緑多年草で、学名は Cymbidium cv. Cascading groups。英名は Cascading cymbidium。

The Cascading cymbidium (Cymbidium cv. Cascading groups) belongs to Orcidaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen herb that is a group of varieties with drooping flower stalks among the "Cymbidium". The host species are "Cymbidium pumilum" and "Cymbidium devonianum", which have drooping properties. In the photo, the top and middle 1-2 are "Cymbidium Sara Jean 'Ice Cascade'", and the middle 3-4 and bottom are "Cymbidium Ruby Sarah 'Gem Stone'". It was created at Mukaiyama Orchid Garden in Enzan City, Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan.
