オーストラリアの東部からタスマニア島、ニュージーランドに分布しています。疎林や草地などに生え、よじ登ったり這って広がり、長さは５０センチほどになります。全体に粗い毛に被われ、主根は肥大してしばしば「かぶ（蕪）」のようになります。葉は円形から腎形で対生し、３〜５裂します。おもに８月から１２月ごろ、茎頂に１〜２個の淡いピンク色の花を咲かせます。葯は黄色です。

フウロソウ科フウロソウ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Geranium solanderi。英名は Solander's geranium、Native geranium。

The Solander's geranium (Geranium solanderi) belongs to Geraniaceae (the Geranium family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed from eastern Australia to Tasmania and New Zealand. This herb grows in open forests and grasslands, climbs and crawls, and grows to about 50 cm in length. It is entirely covered with coarse hair and the taproots are enlarged and often look like "turnips". The leaves are round to kidney-shaped and opposite, with 3-5 splits. Mainly from August to December, one or two pale pink flowers come on the shoot apex. The anther is yellow.
