ジャワひぎり (ジャワ緋桐)

インドネシアのジャワ島が原産です。茎は直立し、高さは３．６メートルほどになります。葉は卵形で３０センチにもなり対生します。枝の先端に、円錐状の集散花序をつけ、鮮やかな橙赤色の花を咲かせます。 |

クマツヅラ科クサギ属の常緑低木で、学名は Clerodendrum speciosissimum。英名は Java glorybower。 |

|
The Java glorybower (Clerodendrum speciosissimum) belongs to the Verbenaceae (the Verbena family). It is a small evergreen tree that is native to the Java Islands in Indonesia. The stem is erect and it can reach about 3.6 m in height. The leaves are ovate, up to 30 cm long, and arranged in opposite. The bright orange-red flowers bloom in the paniculate cymes atop of branches. |
