じんだいすぎ (神代杉) [Index] [Back] わが国の固有種である「すぎ」の園芸品種です。コンパクトで不規則なピラミッド型の針葉樹で、高さは６メートル、幅は１．８メートルほどになります。葉は濃い緑色の短い針葉で、密生します。  スギ科スギ属の常緑低木で、学名は Cryptomeria japonica cv. Jindai (syn. Cryptomeria japonica cv. Zindai)。英名は Jindai Japanese cedar。  The Jindai Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica cv. Jindai) belongs to Taxodiaceae (the Bald cypress family). It is a small evergreen tree that is a horticultural variety of Japanese cedar, which is an endemic species in Japan. It is a compact, irregular pyramid-shaped coniferous tree that grows to a height of around 6 m and a width of around 1.8 m.
