"Sato-zakura 'Juzukakezakura'" (Prunus lannesiana cv. Juzukakezakura) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is one of cultivars of Sato-zakura (Prunus lannesiana). The pale rose pink flowers bloom in late of April to beginning of May, as soon as foliation. The flowers are large and double-flowered. This cherry tree has a legend related to Shinran (Founder of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism), this original tree is located at Baigoji Temple in Agano City, Niigata Prefecture, designated as a natural monument of the country.
