アフリカ・タンザニアの北東部、ウサンバラ山地に分布しています。雨林の岩上や樹幹などに着生して、ロゼットを形成しますが、ときに腋芽をだします。葉は淡緑色の長心形で、縁には鋸歯があり、毛に被われます。花は紫色です。

イワタバコ科セントポーリア属の多年草で、学名は Saintpaulia difficilis。英名はありません。

The Saintpaulia difficilis belongs to Gesneriaceae (the African violet family). It is a perennial herbacious plant that is endemic to the Usambara Mountains in the northeastern part of Tanzania. This is an epiphyte that grows on rocks or tree trunks in rainforests and grows as a rosette or occasionally may be multiple-stemmed. Leaves are light green, oblong-cordate with toothed edges and numerous hairs. Flowers are purple.
