アフリカ・タンザニアの東北部、ウサンバラ山地に分布しています。雨林の岩上や樹幹などに着生して、腋芽をだして広がります。葉は緑色の心円形で、縁には鋸歯があり、短毛に被われます。葉はしばしば下方にわずかに反ります。花は青紫色で中央部は濃紫色です。

イワタバコ科セントポーリア属の多年草で、学名は Saintpaulia magungensis（syn. Saintpaulia amaniensis）。英名はありません。

The Saintpaulia magungensis belongs to Gesneriaceae (the African violet family). It is a perennial herbacious plant that is endemic to the Usambara Mountains in the northeast part of Tanzania. This is an epiphyte that grows on rocks or tree trunks in rainforests and grows as a trailer. Leaves are medium green, orbicular-cordate with toothed edges and short hairs. They are often slightly spooned. Flowers are bluish-purple with dark purple center.
