コロンビアが原産です。蔓性で、気根を出して樹木などによじ登ります。葉はハート形で２５〜４０センチほどの大きさになり、表面は濃緑色、裏面は赤色から赤銅色をしています。茎も若いあいだは赤紫色です。

The Red-leaf philodendron (Philodendron erubescens) belongs to Araceae (the Arum family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Colombia. It is a vine, and it has aerial roots and climbs trees. The leaves are heart-shaped and about 25-40 cm in size, with dark green on the front and red to bronze on the back. The stem is purplish red while young.
